'Good' for Carlyle Nursery and Infant Academy

One of our Harmony Trust Derby academies, Carlyle Nursery and Infant Academy, was visited by OFSTED inspection in July this year and this term we have been delighted to share the report with families and staff. The academy maintained its ‘Good’ rating, with the report praising the school’s “ambitious curriculum” and “the breadth of opportunities for pupils...that enrich their time at school.”  The report went on to applaud the academy’s approach to reading, which develops confident and fluent readers who gain “a love of reading,” as well as praising the children’s recognition of the “importance of kindness and respecting others.”

Antony Hughes, (CEO, The Harmony Trust) continued: “Carlyle exudes being a Harmony Academy through and through; they have been rigorous in their implementation of our Harmony frameworks for phonics and curriculum, and their prioritisation of reading has paid great dividends, with many aspects of the reading curriculum being highlighted by the visiting inspectors.  We are incredibly proud of children, staff and families and the wonderful work they are doing at Carlyle.”
