One of The Harmony Trust’s Oldham academies, Richmond Academy, received an ungraded OFSTED inspection in January this year.  The inspection marked the second successive ‘Good’ judgement following conversion to a Harmony Trust academy in 2014.

The OFSTED report highlighted the “expert” subject knowledge of our teachers at Richmond Academy, along with the “clearly defined…ambitious endpoints…[for] all pupils, including those with special educational and/or disabilities (SEND)” in both English and Mathematics.  There was praise too for the culture of reading that has been created at the Academy, where “reading is at the heart of every classroom.” The Trust-wide reading strategy and motto, ‘Read, Achieve, Succeed’ was also commended.

CEO Antony Hughes said: “These findings are testament to the committed, resilient leadership of Mrs Rahman and her team who have overcome the significant challenges of Covid to emerge strong and determined as ever to secure an excellent education for Richmond’s children.??It is also an important milestone that Richmond – the Trust’s first sponsored academy – can proudly claim a successive second good OFSTED.”
