Our Early Years Provision - Derby
At The Harmony Trust, we provide Pre-School and Nursery provision in eligible academies. Applications for Pre-School and Nursery places are managed directly by each academy.

The Harmony Trust Pre-School and Nursery Admissions Policy
Admissions to Pre-School and Nursery
Applications for Pre-School and Nursery places should be made directly to the academy office.
Places are allocated in accordance with the Trust's admissions criteria, which prioritises:
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the academy
Vulnerable children as identified by the Local Authority
Children living within the catchment area
Sibling connections, where applicable
Please note that a place in Pre-School or Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception at the academy.
Funded Early Education Entitlement
Children may be eligible for funded early education as follows:
Two Year Old Funding (Derby - Flying Start)
Some two year olds may be eligible for 15 funded hours per week through the Flying Start programme. This is targeted offer for eligible families and is available from the term after a child's second birthday.
Parents and carers must apply via Derby City Council. Funding is only confirmed once a valid code has been and issued and provided to the academy.
Three and Four Year Old Funding
All children are entitled to :
15 funded hours per week (universal entitlement)
Eligible working family may also access:
Up to 30 funded hours per week
Funding is term-time only and is available for the term after a child's third birthday. To register for a 30 hour funded place parents must register online at Apply for free childcare if you're working - GOV.UK Parents must provide and regularly reconfirm a valid funding code. The Academy cannot hold a place where eligibility is unconfirmed.
Session Times
Each Academy publishes its available Pre-School and Nursery session times and additional hour charges on individual academy websites.
Meals and Snacks
Across the Trust :
Hot meals are available at a standard charge of £2.64 per day
Meals must be pre-booked and paid for in advance
Children receive a daily snack as part of their Nursery or Preschool session
Where applicable, families may make a voluntary contribution towards snack provision . This contribution is optional.
