The Harmony Trust has recently received its second ‘good’ OFSTED rating for one of its ‘sponsored’ academies. Ash Croft Primary Academy in Derby joined The Harmony Trust in June 2018 after it had been judged ‘requires improvement’ in its OFSTED inspection of the same month. The academy was inspected in September this year with the report released in early October with the inspectors praising the improvements, grading the school ‘good’ in all areas. |

The OFSTED report highlighted the impact of The Harmony Trust’s frameworks and leadership in supporting the academy’s improvement journey, underlining the “support of the Trust” in helping leaders to make “significant improvements” to the school. CEO Antony Hughes said: “we are determined that every Harmony Academy should be a Great Place2Learn and Great Place2Work. Through this inspection, Ofsted has recognised that our evidence-based approach to Teaching and Learning Frameworks like our phonics scheme, HTML (Harnessing Technology Maximising Learning), ‘Excellence for All’ and ‘Read, Achieve, Succeed’ strategies provide an excellent education for all our children while enabling academies to reflect their local context and community. They also enable our teachers and academy leaders to collaborate and share expertise and resources to reduce workload and improve practice”. |
