Ash Croft Primary to receive grant funding from Foyle Foundation

Ash Croft Primary Academy are delighted to have heard they have been successful in their bid to the Foyle Foundation to help support their library improvement project.

The Academy has been working throughout the year to raise funds for the library. The announcement is a great boost to the academy and will be added to last year’s fundraising of £2,000.

The Senior Leadership Team were delighted with the outcome of their bid commenting ‘our aim is to improve pupil’s attainment and we need the best resources and facilities to do this.

We strongly believe investing in the library means investing in pupils’ and staff’s enjoyment of learning and creativity.  The library has a vital role to play in supporting the learning of pupils and helping teachers provide a holistic education programme.  We are extremely pleased to receive this funding and will use it very wisely.’

The grant will be used to specifically purchase new books and reading resources and update the facilities so that the children can use the library more effectively.

The Trust CEO Antony Hughes commented ‘we are extremely pleased to receive this support and helps towards embedding our initiative ‘Read Achieve Succeed’ which is designed to raise the profile of reading across the Trust and develop a lifelong love of reading within our children.  The initiative also aligns itself with the trust priority to raise the outcomes in reading for all pupils.
