Following a January 2023 inspection, Reigate Primary Academy continues to be graded ‘good’ by school inspectors. The recently-released OFSTED report commended the academy as “a caring and inclusive school.” The report went on to highlight that “pupils rise to teachers’ high expectations” and “enjoy attending” Reigate Park.

The report also praised the curriculum at the Mackworth Estate school, stating that pupils are “in eager anticipation of what they will learn,” as well as drawing particular attention to the curriculum’s inclusive nature, adding that all pupils are “extremely proud that they become proficient users of British Sign Language (BSL).”

Karen Ratcliff, Principal stated: “Reigate Park is a special place. We pride ourselves on our role within the community and we were very pleased that inspectors highlighted the benefit of an inclusive curriculum for all pupils. This approach has significantly contributed to the creation of an environment where all children show respect for themselves and for each other, and as the report says ‘an environment in which pupils can spend every minute learning.’”

Executive Principal, Lynne Thorne continued: “We are very proud of the working culture that has been built at Reigate Park and pleased that inspectors recognised the impact of the support and professional development provided, which means ‘staff are proud to work at this school.’”

Antony Hughes (CEO, The Harmony Trust) added: “Reigate Park is an inspirational school and this report is well-deserved. We are delighted that inspectors drew attention to the hard work of staff, families and pupils in ensuring that all children can fulfil their potential regardless of any barriers to learning they face. We were also pleased to see the underlining of key, Trust-wide initiatives such as ‘The Harmony Pledge’ and its role in the personal development of pupils, as well as our approach to early reading. All at Reigate have much to be proud of and I am sure will continue to go from strength-to-strength.”
