Northmoor Academy achieves 'Good' Ofsted

Northmoor Academy in Oldham had its first inspection as a new Academy in May 2019.

We are pleased to announce that the Academy was judged to be good in all areas with outstanding Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare for our pupils.

Jessica Hainsworth, Executive Principal commented.

'We are delighted to receive an inspection report that recognises all that we do for our children and families at Northmoor Academy. The staff, children and families work together to make Northmoor 'a harmonious place of learning of which the community can be rightly proud.  We will continue to grow and develop and be the very best that we can be so that everyone has the ability to succeed.'

Other key highlights from the inspection were:

Strong and committed senior leadership has ensured that this school has got off to a good start.

The curriculum is carefully designed and frequently evaluated and refined to ensure that it meets the needs of the school’s rapidly expanding pupil population.

There is strong support for the high numbers of pupils who join the school with little experience of the English language and education system. Teachers and other adults in the ‘Welcome Hub’ and support teams ensure that these pupils swiftly gain the skills required to access learning.

Pupils are immensely proud of their school. This view is shared by their parents and carers. Pupils attend well. They feel safe and know how to keep safe because of the high-quality guidance they receive.

Anthony Hughes, the CEO for The Harmony Trust said ‘this is a great example of an academy working together on various platforms.  With inspirational vision for all within the Trust, staff, pupils and families.  The Academy is a superb beacon of how The Harmony Pledge is instilled in everything we do.  We are very proud to be part of this amazing journey.’
