Welcome to Carlyle Academy
The Harmony Trust would like to welcome Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy to our Derby Hub family. They officially completed the process of becoming an Academy on the 1st August 2019. We would like to wish all the pupils, staff and parents a very big warm welcome.
Carlyle Academy is situated in Littleover, in Derby and is home to approximately 215 pupils and is rightly proud of its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Following its last OFSTED inspection the school is rated as ‘Good’.
The Head of Academy Mrs Laura Besenzi, her governors and staff made the decision to join The Harmony Trust some months ago. ‘We are very excited to have become part of the Trust as we were particularly attracted to their ‘inclusive for all’ approach which we fully engage with’.

Carlyle Academy is a great addition to our Derby Hub and we are delighted to have the children, parents and staff join us. Trustees are delighted with the huge improvements our Derby Academies are making which have led to the significant improvements in pupil outcomes in 2019. Carlyle Academy have already begun to share their expertise with our other Academies and we know they will play a key part in our commitment to achieving our vision to provide every pupil with an excellent primary education’.
